A task is Failed by our Quality Review team if the submission if it is found to be in major violation of the project guidelines.
Note: If a task is Failed, you will not be given the option to redo the task. Payment will not be issued for any Failed task.
Possible reasons for a task to be Failed include:
1. You are ineligible for the task
Participants are matched to tasks based on profile information like language, location, age, or gender (or all of the above!). Please see Task availability & eligibility for more details.
If after reviewing your submission, our Quality Team may deem you ineligible for the task, in which case your submission will be Failed.
Please make sure your profile is up to date to ensure you are eligible for the right tasks. See Updating your profile for more details.
2. You submitted more than one entry for the task
You can only make one (Passed) submission per task. Please see Can I complete a task more than once? For more details.
If a friend or family member is trying to re-submit a task on your profile, have them create their own profile instead.
3. You did not follow the project guidelines
If you didn’t correctly follow the instructions given in the project, you may receive an email giving you the option of re-submitting the task. This will depend on whether the task is still available for submissions.
Failed vs. Needs Work
When a task is Failed, you will not be given the option to re-submit the task.
If a task is marked as Needs Work, you will have the option of re-submitting parts or the entirety of the task. This status is used for task submissions with only minor issues (e.g. too much background noise, mispronounced words). See Needs Work for more information.
